Bluebeam Releases version 5.5
Bluebeam PDF Revu version 5.5 was released on July 17 and is being hailed as Bluebeam's
best version yet. With a focus on usability, version 5.5 now includes PDF text editing,
faster speed, advanced viewing capabilities and so much more. Bluebeam is making it
easier than ever to work and share information with PDF.
Bluebeam's new suite of advanced text editing tools takes a giant leap towards
standardizing business communications in PDF and making PDF editing as simple as
word processing applications. After countless customer requests, Bluebeam added
built-in PDF text editing tools. Text editing allows users to add, delete and
modify text in the PDF content stream for permanent text changes. For proofreading
contracts and documents, Bluebeam added text reviewing tools that add common markups
to a PDF document, such as underlines, strikethroughs and text inserts.
With the release of 5.5, Bluebeam introduces MultiView and Dynamic Default,
proprietary technology for faster PDF rendering, navigation, and markup.
MultiView allows users to view up to 16 PDF documents simultaneously. This is
particularly effective for comparing revisions of documents or architectural designs.
In addition, users have the option of panning and zooming documents in unison.
Dynamic Default adds an automatic 'memory' feature to Revu. Dynamic Default technology
automatically remembers settings such as color, font and line thickness, when adding
markups to PDF documents, making the process more intuitive.
Bluebeam PDF Revu 5.5 offers a 64-bit compatible version that can be installed in
64-bit versions of Windows® XP and Windows Vista. The 64-bit version of
Bluebeam PDF Revu CAD Edition includes plugs-ins that integrate with 64-bit versions of
AutoCAD® 2008 and SolidWorks® 2006-2007. Available through a separate download, this version
is appropriate only for users with 64-bit operating systems.
