OverviewIncluded in Revu, Bluebeam Studio™ combines the best of cloud storage and collaboration. Simply upload your PDFs to Studio, and invite attendees from around the world to view and add markups to the same PDFs in real-time or on their own time. All session and project activity is tracked in a record that conveniently links back to the PDFs. You can even create reports to archive or share with your team. What are you waiting for?
Studio projects act as a simple document management system, giving users more flexibility and space when sharing and storing files in the cloud. Revu users can upload project folders or any file type to Studio and invite an unlimited number of attendees to join and access the project files. PDF files stored in projects can be checked out to maintain version control while editing, or used to start a session for online collaboration and markup. Hosts also have the power to set permissions for groups of attendees or a single attendee. Are you on cloud 9 yet?

You need three things to host a Studio session:
A license of Bluebeam Revu or an active trial
An email address so you can create a Studio account
A broadband Internet connection
Users with a license of Bluebeam Revu or a fully functional trial can start a Studio session or project as the host. The host starts the session or project, adds files, invites attendees and defines the security and permissions. The host does not need to be logged in to Studio for others to join a session or project and add markups.
You only need three things to join a Studio session:
A license of Bluebeam Revu, an active or expired trial, or Bluebeam Vu
An email address so you can create a Studio account
A broadband Internet connection

Only the host or attendees that have been given permission can add or remove PDF files from a project. To add a file or folder, click on the green plus button in the Studio tab. From there you have the option to upload files or folders to your project. To remove a file or folder, right-click on the name in the project and then click Delete.
Studio sessions remain active for 14 days after the last activity and then become inactive. Simply rejoin a session to renew it. The session will then remain active for another 14 days before it becomes inactive again. If the session stays inactive for 30 more days, it will be deleted from the system. In the Recents list, session names are color coded to designate their status. Sessions marked with a yellow icon are active. When the icon turns orange, you have 14 days remaining before the session goes inactive. A red icon indicates the session is about to become inactive. You can hover your mouse over the red icon to see how many days remain until the session becomes inactive. Bluebeam sends notifications to the host when sessions are about to become inactive or deleted.
Studio projects remain active until the host deletes the project from Studio. To delete a project, right-click on the project name and then click Delete.
Any file in a project can be checked out for editing from Studio by the host or attendees that have been given permission to edit files. The checkout process acts similar to a document management system. You can open a file locally from its native application (Word, Excel, etc.), edit it, and then check the file back in to be shared with all attendees. To check out a file, right-click on the file's name and then click Check Out. To check a file back in, click on the red check mark in the file tab and then click Check In. Before you check files back in, you can even add a note about the changes that you made.
Permissions can be defined in Studio to grant or deny users access and define what users can and can't do in sessions and projects. Permissions can be set for individual users or groups of users at the same time. When in a session, click on the Session Settings button, and then click on the Permissions tab. From here you can set permissions for all attendees or individual attendees such as the ability to save a local copy of a PDF file in a session, or print and markup files. When in a project, click on the Project Settings button, and then click on the Permissions tab. From here you can set permissions for all attendees, individual attendees, or groups of attendees that you have created. Permissions such as add/delete files, rename files, edit files, save files, send files to sessions, and full control are all available in projects.
When creating a new session in Bluebeam Studio, you will see a checkbox for Email Notifications in the Start Studio Session options. This option enables a Daily Summary of Session activity to be emailed to the Session host, as well as an alert to new activity in a session the host is not currently attending.
By choosing to finish the session, the host ends the session and removes the documents from the Studio server. The Finish Session dialog allows the host to create the Session Report and select how to save or discard the documents.
https://studio.bluebeam.com is the user account management page of the Bluebeam website. Here, users can view their sessions and make changes to their profile.
You may not have validated your account. After creating a Studio account, an email is sent to you that requires you to click a link to validate your account. A user will not be able to log into the system if the email address has not been validated within 1 week of creating the account.
The Revu application connects to studio.bluebeam.com. Configure your firewall to deny access to this site and your users will not be able to use the Studio service.
